Undrafteds In Depth: Cornelius Giving 100 Percent
Buffalobills.com will profile each of the Bills' undrafted rookie free agents in an effort to familiarize the dedicated Bills fan about some of the more obscure players on the roster. Our fourth installment is wide receiver Jemalle Cornelius. There was one thing missing from Ted Ginn Jr.'s touchdown on the opening kickoff of the National Championship game, a penalty flag. Just ask former Florida Gator Jemalle Cornelius and he will tell you that teammate Reggie Nelson was held on the return. Despite the 'no call' Cornelius and the Gators triumphed over Ohio State. The victory gave Cornelius and his fellow seniors something that not many college players get; to finish their college career with a National Championship.
"It was the best way to leave," said Cornelius of the 41-14 victory in the BCS Championship game.
But Cornelius now faces the challenge of earning a spot on the Bills roster next to receivers like Lee Evans and Peerless Price. One thing working in his favor is his ability to play any receiver position, as well as special teams. His versatility got him on the field in many situations at Florida, and it is something he hopes to use to his advantage in Buffalo.
