Chambers gives Chargers deep threat
A good trade for both teams? Absolutely, it's a win-win situation.
Wide receiver Chris Chambers, dealt Tuesday by the Miami Dolphins to the San Diego Chargers for a draft pick, should add an extra dimension to an already-strong offence in SoCal.
It boasts LaDanian Tomlinson (and oft-forgotten Michael Turner), always threatening from the backfield, and the NFL's best tight end, Antonio Gates, as a short-pass threat.
The deep threat hasn't really been there this year in San Diego. Now, it can be if Chambers regains the form he had in 2005, when he caught 82 passes for 1,118 yards and 11 touchdowns.
For the Dolphins, it gives highly touted receiver Ted Ginn Jr.-- the 2007 ninth-overall
NFL draft pick -- a chance to strut his stuff after biding his time on special teams.
BUCK THE BRONCOS
With WR Hines Ward, WR Santonio Holmes and SS Troy Polamalu returning to the
Pittsburgh Steelers lineup Sunday night, the
Denver Broncos will be hard pressed to beat the visitors from Steeltown -- even at home and even after a bye-week. Remember, the
Denver Broncos lost 41-3 to the Chargers at Invesco Field in Week 5.
